The FIFA World Cup Finals tournament will take place in South Africa in June and July 2010, and will attract a TV audience of billions; all following their favourite team's progress in the world's biggest football tournament.

Taking place every four years, the FIFA World Cup Finals tournament starts with a group stage involving 32 countries split into eight groups, each consisting of four teams. The first and second placed teams from each group progress to the second round knock-out stage, after which follows the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.

As South Africa is host for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals, their football team receive automatic qualification into the tournament. They are the only team to earn free entry to the tournament as even existing world champions Italy - who lifted the trophy in Germany in 2006 - had to qualify. The remaining 30 countries have also all undergone a two-year qualification process; competing against other teams from the same continent to earn their place in the final tournament.

During the 2010 tournament the majority of people in England will have their attention will be on Group C, which as well as containing the Three Lions also contains Algeria, Solvenia and the USA. That draw has led to many believing that England has a better chance of progressing to the knock-out stage than ever before. Indeed, the chance of England going all the way has prompted many who would have been quite happy in previous years to be armchair fans to investigate whether they can attend the tournament in person.

Although many FIFA World Cup 2010 packages have already been snapped up, if you have a few thousand pounds to spare it is still possible to attend the tournament and follow England. Arranging travel, accommodation and match tickets independently is out of the question and indeed FIFA and the English FA recommend that you only buy tickets and travel from official sources.

However, if you are tempted to travel to South Africa, remember that even though the tournament is taking place in June and July, that is the middle of winter in the Southern hemisphere. So, pack raincoats and warm clothes rather than safari shorts! Because of the distances between venues you will also need to be ready to undertake a fair degree of travel, and although it is possible by road air travel would be far more preferable.

Whether you watch the tournament from the comfort of your armchair or are lucky enough to be there in person, England expects!

The NFL try outs have been around for decades a tradition that seems to not have any end in sight. Year after year we watch as young men put on display the amount of potential that they "Potentially" have in their young bodies. These young men who have dedicated their lives to the sport of football to the point where they eat football and sleep between the sheets of their favorite NFL sports bedding set. Not only do these young men have to jump threw hoops like dogs on display for the National football league teams that they are trying out for but, they also must suffer the piercing gaze and insensitive remarks of ridicule from the public.Yet through it all these men pour their hearts out on to these fields to show everyone what they have to offer the sport.

But, this system has it's flaws because sometimes a great player can do horribly and sometimes that player that isn't always so great can go there and score perfectly. The problem begins when people look at only the statistics of the player and not the man behind the number. Because although these men get an extremely high pay check for the work they do, no matter how much you pay someone it can not and does not dictate the heart they put into it. To play in the highly competitive world of football you need to do more than just be able to lift allot of weight or run fast or touch a rope hanging high up. There are key things that only the men who have walked across the battlefield of freshly cut grass to give it their all, day of the day through blood, sweat, and tears only these men know what it truly takes to go through that. It takes heart, determination, guts, and a never ending and unbreakable will. This inner strength is what drives true athletes it is what picks them up when they fall, it is what will drive them forward through a usually unbearable pain. For now the only thing we have to test a player is the try outs but I hope one day their will be a way to test a player that goes beyond their physical toughness and will test their will to win at all cost because this is what can separate a player from a champion and what separates the man from the number.

A potentially stellar trade for the New York Jets on Thursday as the dealt a third-round pick (potentially it can become a second-rounder) to the San Diego Chargers for former Pro Bowl cornerback Antonio Cromartie. Your customers can make Jets futures bets today if you have http://www.bookoldschool.com/agent-software.htm/ Price Per Head's Sportsbook Software.

While Cromartie hasn't been the same player who was named first-team All-Pro in 2007, when he led the league with 10 interceptions in just his second season, he and Darrelle Revis should form the best cornerback duo in the NFL.

The Chargers had made no secret of their desire to dump Cromartie because of his falling on-field production and his off-the-field issues he has seven kids by five different women (and five paternity suits) and Cromartie also had a bar patron claim that he hit him in the head with a champagne bottle hours after the team's victory at Denver last November. When Cromartie missed tackling Shonn Greene on what was the clinching touchdown run in New York's 17-14 AFC divisional-round upset at San Diego in January, that sealed his fate.

Still, Cromartie won't turn 26 until next month, and Jets coach Rex Ryan is a noted defensive master who might be able to get the best out of the former Florida State star. In addition, Cromartie is in the last year of his contract and thus will be very motivated next season. And Cromartie is an upgrade over Lito Sheppard, who the Jets released on Thursday.

When the FIFA World Cup Finals draw took place in South Africa in early December 2009 there was a collective sigh of relief from England football fans, which soon turned to a joyful optimism that 2010 could finally be the year that their team brought home the FIFA World Cup trophy.

The three other teams selected to compete against England in Group C of the FIFA World Cup 2010 proved not to be as strong as they could have been, with the Three Lions managing to avoid being drawn against either Portugal or France, and many other teams that would have provided stronger opposition.

England will not have it all their own way, but this is such a comfortable draw that they should easily overcome the USA, Algeria and Solvenia to progress to the knock-out stages. Indeed the group has already been referred to as the group of ease' in the tabloid's sport pages.

The FIFA World Cup Finals involving 32 teams kicks-off in South Africa on June 11, 2010 when the host nation takes on Mexico in the opening game. England's first game against the United States takes place a day later in Rustenburg. Games against Algeria on June 18 and Slovenia on June 23 will take be played in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, respectively.

England fans will certainly need to be prepared to travel many miles, preferably by air, as they follow their team in their quest to win the FIFA World Cup Finals for only the second time in the history of the tournament. Indeed, FIFA World Cup travel takes on a whole new meaning for England fans in South Africa, as the distances between venues are so immense. Travelling from the first venue of Rustenburg to Cape Town involves a journey of 884 miles and then travel onto Port Elizabeth is another 465 mile trek.

If England finish first in Group C, as widely predicted, then the team's second round knock-out game will take place back in Rustenburg on June 26, another 700 mile trek north. However, should they finish second then they will only have to travel a mere 413 miles to Bloemfontein play their first knock-out game a day later on June 27.

Should the Three Lions progress to the quarter-finals stage of the tournament it kicks-off on July 2, with the semis starting four days later; the final tie will be played at Soccer City in Johannesburg on July 11. If England go all the way their fans will have followed them for thousands of miles, but for them it will all be worth it to see John Terry lift the FIFA World Cup trophy in triumph.

Being a fan of our favorite team is not a crime in fact it is all but too common. There is just such a love and hate relationship between having support for your favorite team. It is great win your team wins and you feel great inside almost as if you yourself have actually accomplished something great. Not to mention doing a victory dance in front of your friends who for some reason or other always seem to support your most hated team ever. But, there is always the flip side when your team starts to do horribly game after game after game they do nothing but horrible plays, and make such stupid mistakes that it makes you yell at the television. Yet, there is something almost thrilling about not only the victories but the struggle for if one team was always superior than the others then there would be no joy in it. The most thrilling part of sports is not watching that great monster player dominate the field but, how the opposing team works together to overcome great obstacles, yes sometimes they may loose but they always give it there all.

These thrilling and passionate acts can make people really get into the heart of the game but, when is it that people confuse the support of their favorite team and an unhealthy border line of obsession that can destroy their relationships with their families and friends. We all have those people that take watching the game too far. To the point that you can not even bring them over to your house on super bowl Sunday because of fear that they may get too out of hand and start tearing your house apart because someone missed the game winning goal. Now there is nothing wrong with being passionate about your favorite team and showing your support by maybe going to every game or even showing your support by having a sports bedding set of your favorite team.Admittedly there was a point in my life when I was one of those people who did not know when I was taking they game too far. Because of that obsession major consequence's where to follow like the lost of many of my good friends, it got to the point where I could not even pay people to come over to my house on Sunday nights and thats why it is so important to remember that thin line between fan boy and obsessed.

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who was already facing a lawsuit from a Reno woman that alleges he raped her in 2008 is now in potential trouble again with the ladies as he is facing allegations of a sexual assault of a 20-year old woman after a night or drinking and carousing in a central Georgia college town of Milledgeville, which is 85 miles southeast of Atlanta.

While many observers believed that the 2008 allegation was of the "gold digger" variety this latest sexual assault allegation may make it more difficult for Roethlisberger to maintain his image of innocence and potentially brings on the "where there is smoke there is fire" element to his public image. Roethlisberger was at a local bar with a couple of friends to watch the University of Pittsburgh basketball game on television and began buying drinks for the crowd in the bar.

The group next went to a restaurant called "The Brick" after the game in which Roethlisberger became excited as Pitt won on a late 3-point shot over Providence 73-71. The restaurant owner complimented Roethlisberger on being polite and well mannered. After hanging at "The Brick" the Roethlisberger party next went to Capital City, which is a popular nightclub for students who attend Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville.

There was a country band playing at the nightclub and a $20 cover charge. Roethlisberger was seen entering the club and later moving into a curtained off section of the establishment. That is where the investigation begins. Officials say that the allegations are specifically "sexual assault" and not "rape." Investigators are awaiting lab results before the case move forward.

There will be no further announcements from Milledgeville officials until Monday. Roethlisberger's agent immediately commented and said that they have suspicions as to the motive of the accuser. Despite Roethlisberger facing two allegation of sexual assault, the Pittsburgh Steelers are still one of the favorites to win the championiship in Super Bowl XLV odds at +1400.

A potentially stellar trade for the New York Jets on Thursday as the dealt a third-round pick (potentially it can become a second-rounder) to the San Diego Chargers for former Pro Bowl cornerback Antonio Cromartie. Your customers can make Jets futures bets today if you have http://www.bookoldschool.com/agent-software.htm/">Price Per Head's Sportsbook Software.

For 34 years Florida State University head football coach Bobby Bowden has helped his team become one of the most storied college football programs of all time. During his tenure the Seminoles have won two national championships and 12 ACC (Atlantic Coastal Conference) titles. Bowden has also led the Seminoles to 14 straight ten win seasons in which the team finished ranked in the top five each season. One of his biggest accomplishments is the fact that Bowden only had one losing season as the head coach of Florida State.

It's hard to believe that the man who built the program to be what it is today will be forced to step away after the Seminoles bowl game this year. With Bowden stepping down and retiring offensive coordinator Jumbo Fisher will be taking over as the head coach. Fisher was deemed Bowden successor at the end of the 2007 season and was slated to be paid $5 million if he had not received the head coaching position by 2011. After the season ending loss to rival Florida Gators, Bowden was given the option to step down and take on a lesser role by being an ambassador for the team or retire.

Even though Bowden and the Seminoles dominated most of the late 80's and pretty much all the 90's lately his team has not been a championship contender and have run into major academic problems off the field that could eventually vacate 14 of Bowden's wins from the 2006-07 seasons. As of now the ruling to vacate the wins are still under appeal, which Florida State hopes to win.

In all it was a great run for Bowden, as he accumulated the second highest win total in Division 1 FBS with 388 wins, just five shy of the legendary Joe Paterno who still coaches at Penn State. Part of Bowden's epic tale was told in the blockbuster movie We Are Marshall which told the story of how Bowden helped the young Thundering Herd of Marshall University rebuild after the tragic plane crash in 1970 that claimed 75 lives including 37 players and eight coaches. At the time Bowden coached at nearby West Virginia University and allowed the new coaches at Marshall to use his office, playbooks and any game film he had to help prepare them for their upcoming season after the plane crash that not only shocked the small West Virginia community but the world.

Julius Peppers Bears agree to 6 year deal! Yes it is indeed a great day for the Bears Nation. Last year from the Jay Cutler deal they lost their 1st and 3rd round picks. They also lost their 2nd round pick in the Gaines Adams deal. But what they lost in last years trades, they have made up for big time by landing the most coveted free agent of the year, along with 2 more pretty good ones.

The Bears and Julius Peppers finalized a six-year deal to bring the top free agent in 2010 to Chicago, according to a source. Peppers was looking for at least $12 million a year in the early part of the contract. The agreement could be worth $40 million over the first three years. They also signed former Minnesota running back Chester Taylor to a four-year deal worth $12.5 million total.

POLL:

Will The Bears Win The NFC With The Addition Of Peppers and Taylor?

VOTE YES or VOTE NO

The 6-foot-7, 283-pound Peppers is a five-time Pro Bowler who recorded 10.5 sacks with two interceptions and five forced fumbles last season. "If we bring in Julius Peppers, that could help us a lot," Bears defensive end Alex Brown said Thursday on "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000. "The guy's a monster, he's an animal. He's the biggest guy and fastest guy I think I've ever seen. "He's as gifted as [linebacker Brian] Urlacher, I think. He's just about 30 pounds heavier. He's unbelievable.

Formalities are over. Julius Peppers is now officially a member of the Chicago Bears. He brings with him 81 career sacks and the hopes of an entire nation. Oh, and aside from Julius Peppers, the Bears signed Chester Taylor, too. So, yep, not a bad day. It wasn't always easy, this Peppers to Bears thing.

The Patriots did their best to ruin everything the Bears had worked for by offering Peppers a contract. So did the Eagles. Neither, obviously, were successful. But, if you just so happen to own one of the following: a computer with Internet access, a television with ESPN, or a friend with working ears and vocal chords, you probably were on the edge of your seat all last night and this morning. Unless, of course, you aren't a true Bears fan.

I mean you can't argue with his decision, he still gets to play in the 4-3 scheme which he loves, he has a coach that backs his star players, and a city that's known for it's defense, Peppers will help put "Monsters" back in "Monsters of the Midway. Can you see it, Peppers, Urlacher, Briggs, and a re-focused Tommie Harris coming out of the huddle. September can't get here any faster!

POLL:

Does Peppers and Taylor Give The Bears Enough To Win It All?

VOTE YES or VOTE NO

Get a Wal-Mart gift card for your opinion

The Bears also signed former Niners and, more importantly, former Rams tight end Brandon Manumaleuna to a five-year deal earlier in the day. Manumaleuna is the kind of blocking tight end that Mike Martz wants for his scheme. Since Olsen is not reportedly on the trading block, it seems big Dez Clark is on the way out.

I can't remember the last time so many, including myself, gathered 'round the TV watching ESPN, or a my laptop to watch for every bit of change in news that, in the end, may or may not make the Bears a better team. Okay, okay, so it's hard to imagine Peppers, or Taylor for that matter, not drastically improving the team; Peppers the defensive line (and, subsequently, the entire defense), Taylor the short-yardage running game; but the fervor in which we all seemingly got swept up in this "free agency frenzy" was amazing
