Even though United didn't concede a single goal away from Old Trafford in their run to the final, Pep Guardiola's outfit are available at 90.5 92 on the outright index spread (100pts for winner, 75pts for runner-up). Spread enthusiasts may have noted that Wembley Stadium has huge significance for both clubs, as United and Barca won their first European trophies here, in 1968 and 1992 respectively.

Both outfits are undefeated in the tournament and spread punters would be able to make a case for buying the finalist's win index price. Those keen to sell the Red Devils' outright index spread will point to the last time these sides met in the Rome final in 2009 where the Spaniards comfortably won 2-0. Anyone buying United's outright index would counter that the defeat was the first occasion Barca had beaten the side for five contests. As it stands, the Wembley final will be the 11th time Barca and United have met, with three wins each to their name and four draws.

          ]]>

United are the first side in the Champions League era to have reached the final without conceding a single away goal, which will be of interest to punters having a spread bet on the match supremacy market. Supremacy spread buyers and sellers might like to know that four of the past 11 European cup finals have needed a penalty shoot-out.

Sporting Index's total goals market always provides a popular betting discussion and those thinking of a spread bet on goals should be aware that the previous 11 finals have accumulated 29 goals, averaging 2.63 per game. Sellers of the total goals spread might be intrigued to learn that in those 11 finals there has only been one goalless draw which was in 2003 when AC Milan beat Juventus on penalties at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have found the back of the net 18 times this year in Europe, compared to Barcelona's 27 goals. Spread sellers of total goals will take plenty of encouragement that there have been only three goals scored in the past three matches involving Saturday's finalists.

The total goal minutes spread will again spark plenty of debate among fans. Those buying total goal minutes for the final might like to know that the last five finals have accumulated 105, 71, 216, 194 and 254, when Liverpool fought back from 3-0 down to beat AC Milan in 2005 on penalties.

Spread sellers of the total bookings market at Wembley will be pleased to hear that there were only three yellow cards brandished in last year's final. The past four finals have seen a total of 15 yellow cards issued and no dismissals within 90 minutes. Buyers of the bookings index will be hoping for a repeat of the 2006 final between Barcelona and Arsenal, as Jens Lehman was sent off and the total reached 65 points.

Sporting Index is unique in that we are dedicated solely to providing sports spread betting. We are recognised as the world leader in its field, having captured approximately 70% of the UK's sports spread betting market.
INTRODUCTION
Chelsea Football Club are a professional English football club based in West London. The team, founded in 1905, play in the Premier League and have spent most of their history in the top tier of English football. Chelsea have been English champions three times, and have won the FA Cup five times, the League Cup four times and the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup twice.

The club had their first major success in 1955, winning the league championship. Chelsea won several cup competitions during the 1960s and 1970s, but after that did not win another major title until 1997. The past decade has been the most successful period in Chelseas history, capped by winning consecutive Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006, and reaching their first UEFA Champions League final in 2008.

Chelsea's home is the 42,055 capacity Stamford Bridge football stadium in Fulham, West London, where they have played since their establishment. The club are based just outside the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. In 2003, they were bought by Russian oil magnate Roman Abramovich.

Chelsea's traditional kit colours are royal blue shirts and shorts with white socks. The club crest has been changed several times in attempts to modernize or re-brand; the current crest, featuring a ceremonial lion holding a staff, is a modified version of one first adopted in the 1950s.The club has sustained the fifth highest average all-time attendance in English football. Their average home gate for the 200809 season was 41,464, the fifth highest in the Premier League.

BRIEF HISTORY
Chelsea were founded on 14 March 1905 at The Rising Sun pub (now The Butcher's Hook), opposite the present-day main entrance to the ground on Fulham Road, and were elected to the Football League shortly afterwards. The club's early years saw little success; the closest they came to winning a major trophy was reaching the FA Cup final in 1915, where they lost to Sheffield United. Chelsea gained a reputation for signing big-name players and for being entertainers, but made little impact on the English game in the inter-war years.

Former Arsenal and England centre-forward Ted Drake became manager in 1952 and proceeded to modernise the club. He removed the club's Chelsea pensioner crest, improved the youth set-up and training regime, rebuilt the side, and led Chelsea to their first major trophy success the League championship in 195455. The following season saw UEFA create the European Champions' Cup, but after objections from The Football League and the FA Chelsea were persuaded to withdraw from the competition before it started.

          ]]>

The late 1970s and the 1980s were a turbulent period for Chelsea. An ambitious redevelopment of Stamford Bridge threatened the financial stability of the club, star players were sold and the team were relegated. Further problems were caused by a notorious hooligan element among the support, which was to plague the club throughout the decade. In 1982 Chelsea were, at the nadir of their fortunes, acquired by Ken Bates for the nominal sum of 1, although by now the Stamford Bridge freehold had been sold to property developers, meaning the club faced losing their home. On the pitch, the team had fared little better, coming close to relegation to the Third Division for the first time, but in 1983 manager John Neal put together an impressive new team for minimal outlay. Chelsea won the Second Division title in 198384 and established themselves in the top division, before being relegated again in 1988. The club bounced back immediately by winning the Second Division championship in 198889.

In June 2003, Bates sold Chelsea to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich for 140 million, completing what was then the biggest-ever sale of an English football club. Over 100 million was spent on new players, but Ranieri was unable to deliver any trophies, so he was replaced by Portuguese coach Jos Mourinho. Under Mourinho, Chelsea became the fifth English team to win back-to-back league championships since the Second World War (200405 and 200506), in addition to winning an FA Cup (2007) and two League Cups (2005 and 2007). In September 2007 Mourinho was replaced by Avram Grant, who led the club to their first UEFA Champions League final, in which they lost on penalties to Manchester United. Grant was sacked days later and succeeded by Luiz Felipe Scolari in July 2008.

Scolari spent only seven months in the job before being dismissed after a string of poor results. Russia coach Guus Hiddink was appointed caretaker manager until the end of the 200809 season. Chelsea's season ended with a 21 win over Everton in the FA Cup Final. Two days later former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti was confirmed as Chelsea's new manager.

HOME GROUND
Chelsea have only ever had one home ground, Stamford Bridge, where they have played since foundation. It was officially opened on 28 April 1877. For the first 28 years of its existence it was used almost exclusively by the London Athletics Club as an arena for athletics meetings and not at all for football. In 1904 the ground was acquired by businessman Gus Mears and his brother Joseph, who had previously acquired additional land (formerly a large market garden) with the aim of staging football matches on the now 12.5 acre (51,000 m) site.

COLOURS AND KIT
Chelsea's kit is currently manufactured by Adidas, which is contracted to supply the club's kit from 2006 to 2011. Their previous kit manufacturer was Umbro. Chelsea's first shirt sponsor was Gulf Air, agreed midway through the 198384 season. Following that, the club were sponsored by Grange Farms, Bai Lin tea and Italian company Simod before a long-term deal was signed with computer manufacturer Commodore International in 1989; Amiga, an off-shoot of Commodore, also appeared on the shirts. Chelsea were subsequently sponsored by Coors beer (199597), Autoglass (19972001) and Emirates Airline (200105). Chelsea's current shirt sponsor is Samsung.

SUPPORTERS
Chelsea have the fifth highest average all-time attendance in English football and regularly attract over 40,000 fans to Stamford Bridge; they were the fifth best-supported Premier League team in the 200708 season, with an average gate of 41,673. Chelsea's traditional fanbase comes from working-class parts of West London, such as Hammersmith and Battersea, from wealthier areas like Chelsea and Kensington, and from the Home Counties. In addition to the standard football chants, Chelsea fans sing songs like "Carefree", "Blue is the Colour", "We all follow the Chelsea" (to the tune of Land of Hope and Glory), "Ten Men Went to Mow", "Zigga Zagga", "Hello! Hello!" and the celebratory "Celery", with the latter often resulting in fans ritually throwing celery.

CURRENT PLACE IN PREMIER LEAGUE 2009-10 AND TICKETS
Chelsea with 30 points is at the top of the Premier League table. Chelsea have highest points in the league table. Till now Chelsea have played 12 Matches in Barclays Premier League 2009-10, out of which they won 10 matches and lose just 2.

Chelsea have a large fan base and have millions of fans all over the world and people love to watch their matches live into the play ground. Chelsea fans love to enjoy and experience the thrill during the Chelsea match live in the ground. Getting football tickets for their matches is really a hard task for the Chelsea fans.
The group stage concluded on Wednesday Dec 10th night. The eight teams who finished in third place in their respective groups have advanced to the knockout stage, which begins in February of 2009 with 32 participants. Joining FC Zenit St. Petersburg as qualifiers are FC Girondins de Bordeaux, Werder Bremen, FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Olympique de Marseille, Aalborg BK, ACF Fiorentina, and FC Dynamo Kyiv. The top two teams in each group are still in contention for Champions League berths, and therefore not yet assured of spots in the UEFA Cup.

The Champions League takes precedence among the two events, and therefore clubs that qualify for that more prestigious tournament do not participate in the UEFA Cup. Fiorentina, which reached the UEFA Cup semifinals last season, defeated FC Steaua Bucuresti on Wednesday to book its place in the knockout round. Werder Bremen, meanwhile, scored a 2-1 home win over Inter Milan to secure third place in its group and qualify for the UEFA Cup. It's a consolation prize for Werder Bremen, which missed out on qualifying for Champions League action. We're disappointed in the Champions League this year but, with a bit of luck, in the end we made the best of a bad situation, said Werder Bremen's Torsten Frings in a statement on the club's official website. In spite of everything, I am happy that we will continue to play internationally next year. FC Zenit St. Petersburg, which overcame Rangers FC in Manchester to hoist the most recent UEFA Cup trophy, has a chance to equal the accomplishment of Sevilla FC by winning back-to-back UEFA Cup championships. Sevilla FC captured repeat titles in 2006 and 2007 and could soon be competing in another knockout stage yet again.

With the knockout stage still two months away, it has already been a long and grueling road to the UEFA Cup for the competitors. Prior to the group stage, UEFA Cup hopefuls endured two qualifying rounds, the first of which took place in July and the second of which was held in August. Advancing teams progressed to first-round play held in September and October. The all-important group play, which concludes next week, consists of eight pods, all of which contain five teams. Next season, however, the format will be changed so that there are 12 groups, each comprised of four teams. After 16 teams advance out of February's opening knockout stage, the second round will take place in mid-March.

The quarterfinals will be held in mid-April, and the semifinals will be featured in late April and early May. The upcoming UEFA Cup Final will take center stage on May 20, 2009 and will be hosted in Istanbul's Sukru Saracolou Stadium. Turkey's largest city also showcased another big European soccer event when the 2005 UEFA Champions League final between Liverpool FC and AC Milan was contested in the Ataturk Olympic Stadium. Istanbul will be the 12th city to host the UEFA Cup final since the tournament switched to a new format for the 1997-98 season.

Manchester United and Barcelona will be disputing the crown of Europe this Saturday at the legendary Wembley stadium.

Barcelona faces its third UEFA Champions League final in six years, and the first one without striker Samuel Eto'o, who played a vital role in conquering the title in those two previous occasions by opening the score for the Catalonians. In the 2006 final against Arsenal he scored the equalizer that made it possible for them to come from behind and win the championship. And in the second one disputed in 2009 versus Manchester United he gave his team the lead during a first half that the Red Devils had dominated. With Eto'o gone it is Lionel Messi who is called to make the difference this Saturday at Wembley, when Barcelona will defy Manchester United once again.

The Red Devils already suffered him once in 2009, when Messi scored the second goal in Barcelona's 2-0 victory over them. In an effort to stop him, Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson is carefully working in his starting 11 for Saturday, and claims to have five or six effective line ups to neutralize Messi and company.

It is known that there are only two ways to neutralize Barcelona: through constant fouls that prevents their game from being fluid, or by keeping the ball away from them. And Man U has key players that can perform both roles effectively.

It is in the midfield where this battle will be fought, as it is from here that Xavi and Iniesta control the rhythm of the game for Barcelona, and involve the rest of their teammates in the process by always being an option for them in case they can't find who to pass the ball to. Not to forget Busquets' silent role of recuperating the ball possession from the rival, and the intermittent associations of Messi with them participating in the playmaking.

One of the options that Ferguson is reviewing is whether to align a double pivot with Carrick and Scholes to stop Barcelona's playmakers or to go sacrifice one of them, most likely Scholes, to give its place to South Korean Park Ji-Sung, who is more of a winger, and could exchange roles with Ryan Giggs on the left side.

From what we saw on Man U's last games of the season in England, if Ferguson chooses a more offensive scheme the midfield would be composed of Park, Giggs, Carrick, Valencia, with Rooney in between them and Chicharito, who would be the reference in attack.

While Ferguson decides how to confront this final -his third in four seasons- Barcelona's coach Joseph Guardiola is doubtful about whom the starter left defender will be. He is working on two options: Carles Puyol or Eric Abidal, both recently recovered from their respective injuries.

Despite the two of them being part of the usual starters in the defense along Gerard Pique and Daniel Alves, the risk from then suffering a relapse from their injuries in such a big game is what keeps Guardiola from putting the two of them at the same time. And with Javier Mascherano doing a great defensive job along with Pique, Barcelona's coach doesn't even have the need to risk them.

Both teams are still uncertain about their starting eleven, but what there are no doubts about is regarding them being the best squads in Europe at press time, and a good example of that is not only that the two of them reached the Champions League final, but also that both won their respective domestic leagues: Man u the English Premier League and Barcelona Spanish La Liga.

These are the champions.

Oakland Raiders Jerseys onlineshop webeditor report:

Since joining Bayern, Croatian striker Olic reached a new peak of his career, helping Bayern in the Bundesliga was "double", now, he wants to use the Champions League draw of the season to a successful conclusion, for himself, the Holy Grail of the Champions League Golden Boot is, now he's leading Messi from only difference between a ball in the Bernabeu, he hoped to bridge the gap.

Champions League at the beginning, Olic things never thought Jin Xue, though against Maccabi Haifa, Juventus and Manchester United have made had he scored, but until the semi-final away to Lyon before the gap between him and Messi also up to 4 balls, Golden Boot looks just a fantasy, however, a wonderful "trick" to Olic see hope. Accept the "Munich Daily" interview, talking about the goal Jin Xue, Olic said with a smile: "I have been satisfied with seven goals, of course, I will continue to move forward, seize a second chance to fight, and perhaps What more can I score a goal, but the team victory, the championship is more important. "

History in the Champions League, Bundesliga Golden Boot striker has emerged a lot like the famous "Bomber" Gade - Mueller had four honor, and the small Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has Extraordinaire Europe, however, the restructuring of the Champions League 1992 Champions League, the Bundesliga top scorer in the competition but fell on the leeward, so far only in 1994, when Raphael Werder Bremen 8-ball and Barcelona's Ronald - Coleman had shared Golden Boot. If Olic scored in the final, he will be the first in 16 years won the Golden Boot in the Bundesliga Champions League players.

Olic's brave play and even convinced competitors, because of his rise, "30000000 sir," Gomez is now firmly nailed to the bench, but still like Gomez is not for Olic stop talking: "Olic is a positive and crazy guy, he always spared no effort to run, looking for any possible opportunity, and sometimes, I stood beside him, thinking he would not work, then rush to see him 40 meters back to the chase, he is a phenomenal player. "

Olic not only in the soccer field is the "guerrillas", his career, he fought as guerrillas as the Quartet, the Bundesliga, g A, he spent time in Russia's super, is interesting that when he was 18 years old have the opportunity to join Inter Milan, but the transfer fee is not ??, Olic missed Inter. After many years, and Inter Milan in the Champions League final field meet, but also not a good feeling, after years of wandering, in Munich, 30-year-old Olic enjoyed the double pleasure of football and life, he also hopes to remain here, "now I had a very happy, I can not just stay here a year. "

Cesc Fabregas as Arsenal captain will miss a hamstring injury against Porto in the Champions League battle of life and death, but Fabregas revealed he had wanted to participate in this key game play through the pain, but eventually accepted the doctor's Spanish midfielder recommendations and do not participate in this Champions League battle, ready to Hull City in the weekend's Premier League comeback.

Cesc Fabregas beat Burnley in the race last weekend in a hamstring injury, and as the core team, understood the importance of Fabregas, and because the Gunners lost the first leg 1-2, the team The captain can not be missed even more.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said they would consider the risk before the battle for Fabregas, but in reference to the advice of doctors, Wenger and Cesc Fabregas eventually decided not to attend the game against Porto, because the game is important, Cesc Fabregas playing hurt, but result in serious injury if an early goodbye to the season, then this is definitely worth the candle.

Fabregas told the "Sun": "I want to battle, but the doctor recommended me to rest to avoid the risk. Miss this game I am very sad, because the Porto game is very important to us, it makes me more than usually more sad, I can only present while watching his teammates struggle. "

Scan showed Fabregas this time the injury is not serious, he had the opportunity this weekend Hull City Arsenal game on the back. This is considered a misfortune for the Gunners great fortune, because Arsenal are still opportunities to compete for the Premiership champions, who in great need of a healthy Fabregas.

Apart from Cesc Fabregas, the Arsenal also missed another main, main defender William Gallas is still stranded calf injury, Wenger admitted that he too hasty in training led to Gallas injury recurrence, the French defender sidelined for at least another 2 weeks, which makes Wenger can only continue to partner with Campbell and Virginia Mullen composed defender.

Arsenal have a chance to compete this season, the Premier League and Champions League title two in the Champions League, Arsenal need to reverse the Porto, and in the Premier League, Arsenal, Manchester United is currently 2 points behind the top of the list, on two fronts, Arsenal need to reverse the opponent, the When the test team's morale.

If Arsenal can break into the Champions League final, then most want Fabregas hit Real Madrid, he said: "I think in Madrid's Champions League final against Real Madrid, this is my highest goal as an Arsenal player. If we analyze the Champions League 16 teams, then I think 10 of them have the opportunity to break into the final, of course we are among them. "

For the introduction of Real Madrid and Barcelona want to own, Fabregas Arsenal once again demonstrated their minds, "I have been at Arsenal for many years, I not only regard themselves as swimming leaders, we are a united team, I have to rely on teammates to succeed, and I better than other players is more important. but I will joint together with the club and the fans, as the captain, it added to my loyalty to Arsenal, I had a great time here.
Manchester Council has dramatically abandoned plans to use big screens to screen next week's Manchester United Vs Chelsea Champions League final after Glasgow Rangers fans caused chaos in the city. An estimated 20,000 Glasgow Rangers fans were in the city to see their team play Zenit St Petersberg in the match at the City of Manchester Stadium, but the occasion soured when people ran riot in the city centre, attacking both police officers and civilians.

Richard Leese, leader of the city council leader, told reporters that Manchester would not be screening the vital game next Wednesday as "an appropriate response to what happened last night." He said that "any business or resident of the city centre" would agree with the councils decision not to show the game.

Trouble started in the city when a big screen that was supposed to be showing the game to an estimated 20,000 fans in Manchesters Piccadilly Gardens failed just fifteen minutes before kick off. All attempts to fix the screen failed, so the council laid on free transport for 11,000 fans to watch the game on a screen in the Velodrome. However, some fans refused to go to the alternative venue and violence erupted.

Violence was also present at the Stadium and one St Petersburg fan was stabbed in his seat before kick-off. There was more violence outside the City of Manchester Stadium after Rangers lost 2-0 in the match. In total, there were 52 assaults recorded in the city and fifteen police officers and a police dog were treated for their injuries. 42 football supporters all thought to be Glasgow Rangers fans - were arrested after the violence.

Glasgow Rangers released a statement yesterday, which condemned the behaviour of their badly behaved fans. Martin Bain, the club's chief executive, said: "The club has had discussions with Greater Manchester Police and Manchester City Council in view of incidents in the city last night. The police and council praised the behaviour of the overwhelming majority of Rangers fans." However, he added "We are deeply disappointed that a small minority soured what was great carnival atmosphere and this is a view shared by our fans who travelled in unprecedented numbers to Manchester."

Uefa, the governing body of European football, is now investigating the violence. However, it is not yet known whether Glasgow Rangers can be punished for the bad behaviour of its supporters.

William Gaillard of Uefa said that Greater Manchester Police and the city as a whole had done a "fantastic" job in looking after the fans. He said: "I cant believe that any other city would have done anything better. Of course we are very disappointed with the behaviour of a small minority especially after the city had done everything it could to accommodate everyones needs and were rewarded by injured policemen and hundreds of tons of rubbish."

With both Manchester United and Barcelona clinching their domestic titles with a week to spare, all eyes can now focus on the Champions League final in Rome. Both managers have the luxury of being able to rest their team in preparation for the final on May 27th and as the Stadio Olimpico prepares to host what is set to be a classic, there is plenty for spread bettors to get excited about. Barca are eyeing a third European title whilst United aim for their fourth and their second in as many years. Ryan Giggs has described the game as 50-50 but the Sporting Index traders make the Catalan giants slight favourites on the outright index spread at 87-88.5pts (100pts for winner, 75pts for runner-up), whilst United are at 86.5-88pts. Maybe significantly for spread bettors, Barca has been drawn as the home team so United will wear their all-white strip. Buyers of Uniteds spread may remember it is exactly 18 years since they beat Barcelona 2-1 in the European Cup-Winners Cup wearing identical outfits.

Spread bettors looking to get involved in the total goals market should be aware that in the last nine finals there have been 25 goals, averaging almost three goals a game. Since 2000 there has only been one occasion where the final has been scoreless, in 2003 when AC Milan drew 0-0 with Juventus. Supremacy spread buyers and sellers will note that four of the nine previous finals have been settled by penalties and furthermore the last two finals in Rome have ended 1-1, both being decided 4-2 on penalties. This may open up opportunities for a worthwhile in-play spread bet, especially if one team edges ahead in an otherwise tight game.

United and Barca have played each other six times since 1994, each recording one win and drawing the other four. Buyers of the total goals spread will be pleased that these meetings have averaged 3.5 goals per game, although this is probably tempered by knowledge of Uniteds defensive record theyve conceded just six goals in Europe this year. Barca have conceded 13 goals this campaign and buyers of their match win index spread will be concerned with the lack of defensive options Guardiola has for the final.

Sellers of the total bookings spread will be encouraged that United have only picked up six yellow cards in the knockout stages while buyers of Barcelonas booking supremacy will be pleased that Barca have received 12 yellows in the same period plus a controversial red for Abidal against Chelsea. Another popular market is Sporting Indexs total goal minutes spread. Those buying total goal minutes for the final might like to know that the last four finals have accumulated 71, 216, 194 and a staggering 254, when Liverpool came back from the dead to triumph over AC Milan in 2005. The last three finals have produced eight goals and notably, half of those have been scored in the final quarter of the game.

This week Champions League semifinal matches ended with the outcome as what I have expected but the games were far from boring and predictable. Man Utd and Barcelona will meet in Rome later this month to decide who will be crown with the title of Champion of Europe this season. Both semifinal games were full of drama, suspense and magnificent goals.

Here are some of the highlighted of both games.

Arsenal lost at home to Man Utd 1-3, Man Utd qualify for final 4-1 on aggregate.
After Park Ji Sung scored the first goal, Arsenal found themselves in a more difficult situation. They need to score twice and prevent United from scoring further goal for them to go through to the final. Man Utd have the game firmly in control, taking on Arsenal on the break. By the time Cristiano Ronaldo scored United second goal from a stunning 40-yard free-kick, it was not in any doubt that which team will qualify for the final.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his second goals in the 61st-minute to make it 3-0 for United. The only setback for Man Utd was the sending off of Daren Fletcher after a foul on Ces Frabregas in the penalty box. The referee awarded Arsenal a penalty and send off Fletcher in the process. Robin Van Persi restores some pride to the home team by scoring the penalty. But it proves too little to late for an Arsenal comeback.

Chelsea draw with Barcelona 1-1, Barcelona qualify for final on away goals rule (1-1 on aggregate)
The second semifinal was full of twist and drama. Chelse was on the brink to qualify for the final for the second successive season. But a strike from Andrea Inesta deep into the injury time knocked Chelsea out of the final in the cruellest of fashions.

Chelsea was denied 4-penalty by Norwegian referee, Tom Henning Ovrebro. Chelsea player confronted Tom Ovrebro furiously after the game and look likely to be punished by UEFA for the manner of the confrontation.

Michael Essien has given Chelsea the lead on the 9th-minute with a stunning volley. After the sending off of Eric Abidal in the 66 minutes, Chelsea look set to set up a repeat of last year Champions League Final with Man Utd. However, ten-men Barcelona managed to snatch a goal on the 93rd-minute to knock Chelsea out in the cruellest fashions.

Barcelona should be given credit for their performance over the two-leg semifinal. In the second game, ten-men Bracelona actually maintained a 71% ball possession compare to Chelsea 29%. Even though Barcelona was fortunate from some of the referee's decisions, we have to praised their never say die attitude. Chelsea failure to score the all important second goal cost them dearly.

Barcelona and Manchester United will meet on May 27 in a much anticipated game of the season. Everyone is looking forward for the battle of supremacy for the best player in the world between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Authentic jerseys supply store report:

Since Manchester United won the Premier League this season, could not, so the team's lineup may be a correction. But Ferguson did not rush to sign new players or to discuss the transfer of the topic, "I will not be announced before TV cameras in the club's transfer plans, but it is clear that we will see the team line-up structure," Ferguson accepted MUTV said, "the team's structure and there is no problem, we train very hard over the past few years, young players, their growth in the club is very successful, we will evaluate all aspects of things, not just one or two positions adjustment, but at this moment, I would not say anything. "

When asked why Manchester United are second only this season, Ferguson said: "I do not intend to discuss this topic today, because it involves many things, a visitor to Stamford Bridge may be that game for us , lost that game, is really wrong, if you look back over the season, it may be the decisive game. But we can not make excuses for myself, sometimes, you will get a breakthrough, and sometimes, you can not do that. "

Before last Sunday's press conference, Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that the Champions League in the 2009/10 season out, is his biggest regret, Manchester United Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals was eliminated in the May 22 missed day, the final in Madrid.

"To be honest, I think the Champions League exit is our greatest regret, we could have the final, we are a better team performance, but also in the field have a very good performance, we are just bad luck, such a thing, often appeared in the football world, we just lack a bit of luck. "

Manchester United won the Premier League title four consecutive years, the dream was shattered Chelsea Ancelotti, Alex Ferguson hopes comeback next season.

Manchester United's title rivals 8-0 at home to Wigan massacre, which makes the 4-0 victory over Stoke City, Manchester United failed to win. "We feel that Wigan is difficult to get the points at Stamford Bridge, when we know they are only 10 men, our hope has been dashed." Sir Alex said, "We want to congratulate Chelsea win the championship, we know it very difficult to win, this is the most difficult league in the world, we have won three consecutive times. I congratulate Carlo Ancelotti made wonderful achievements, he was a good coach. "

Ferguson eyes into the 2010/11 season and quickly put on his challenge to the Chelsea: "In this season, we won the league title for 3 consecutive years, it is fantastic achievement, the players were great, we will come back next season, it is Manchester United needs to be done. "

Top 10 Soccer Players in the World

Based on the FIFA player of the year, on the football news, football scores and football results, we succeeded in putting together a list of the top 10 football players in the world. Some picks might differ between a site and another since the football experts of ESPN.com or SI.com are way different from the soccer experts of Eurosport.com or CBSsports.

Here is our opinion about the best football players on the planet, starting with the best football player without any doubt, Lionel Messi.

1- Lionel Messi is an Argentinean football player who features for the FC Barcelona in the Spanish football league and other European football tournaments such as the Champions League. Lionel MEssi is among the most awaited football players during the World Cup 2010 due to his exceptional football shoes tricks and magical football skills.

2- Cristiano Ronaldo has newly joined the Real Madrid; after leading the Manchester United until the Champions League finals against Barcelona where the Man Utd lost, Ronaldos popularity was starting to decrease in the English Premier League. After being signed by Real Madrid, Ronaldo is also one of the best soccer players in the world, widely known for his goal scoring techniques and accurate strikers shots.

3- Zlatan Ibrahimovic just made it to FC Barcelona; as a football transfer between Barca and Inter Milan got tackled, Ibra was substituted by Samuel EtoO who was transferred towards the Italian League while Ibrahimovic got signed by the football team of Pep Guardiola.

4- Steven Gerrard or Stevie G is among the most dangerous football strikers in the world; as a captain of Liverpool, Gerrard is expected to lead the English football team in South Africa 2010 as the team tackles the FIFA World Cup under the supervision of Coach Fabio Capello.

5- Samuel Etoo features for Inter Milan; Etoo was the top scorer of Barcelona until the deal with Inter Milan obliged him to exchange places with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. In the World Cup 2010, Samuel Etoo will lead the Cameroon football team, perhaps crafting a new surprise by qualifying into the final rounds of the Fifa World Cup tournament.

6- KAKA quit playing for AC Milan and joined Real Madrid along with Cristiano Ronaldo to form one the most dangerous offensive lineups in the world; although Kaka occupies the midfield spot, he remains one of the most skilled strikers when it comes to scoring goals.

7- Xavi Hernandez of FC Barcelona is also one of the football players who won the Euro Championship with spain Vs Germany; Xavi is far from being the fastest football player or the most talented football player but his job in controlling the midfield of every football field grants him the title of one of the best midfielders in the world.

8- Andres Iniesta, Barca player, is considered as one of the main elements in the team; Guardiola counts on Inesta to deliver the balls towards the strikers. Iniesta, referring to football news and sports experts, is one of the most underrated football players in the world, maybe due to the lack of TV appearances or marketing and endorsement deals.

9- Frank Lampard, Chelsea football teams idol, is one of the most consistent and persistent football players on many levels. Eith
[removed][removed]
er in the EPL English Premier League fixtures or in the European football tournaments, the Chelsea midfield player has marked the English football with his skills and potential to create decent occasions and lead his team in the Premiership fixtures.

10- Fernando Torres, Spanish striker and one of the most talented goal scorers in the world, will be featuring along his Spanish team mates in the World cup 2010; after winning the European Championship with the Spaniards, Torres will have to demonstrate some real football skills to overcome his bad football results and low football scores with Liverpool throughout the Premier League and the Champions League.

Carlo Ancelotti is confident John Terry will be unaffected by painful memories of his last visit to the Luzhniki Stadium when Chelsea take on Spartak Moscow in the Champions League tomorrow.

Captain Terry slipped as he took a crucial shoot-out penalty against Manchester United in the Champions League final in 2008. Had he scored, Chelsea would have won the trophy they crave, but following his miss the Blues went on to lose.

However Chelsea boss Ancelotti does not believe the former England skipper will be affected by his return to the stadium tomorrow.

"John has great experience so I think what happened two years ago has no effect on him, he has experience,'' said Ancelotti.

"Everyone knows in football you can sometimes lose games. I lost a final in 2005 but you have to look forward. If you look forward with enthusiasm and character you can have revenge.

"Chelsea lost the final in 2008 but I don't think they will have a psychological problem with that tomorrow, it is a different story now.''

An artificial pitch has replaced the grass on which Terry's error led to Manchester United's third triumph in Europe's most prestigious club competition, but Ancelotti is unconcerned by the surface.

However, the Italian refused to name his team until the players had trained on it.

"I can say nothing about this because we haven't tried this kind of pitch,'' he added.

"We want to try it this evening in the training session and after that we can have an opinion about this.

"We don't have a problem to play here, I hope, but it is different, it is one of the best artificial pitches. We don't complain about this.''

Defender Alex, striker Didier Drogba, right-back Jose Bosingwa and England midfielder Frank Lampard have all been left behind at the club's Cobham training headquarters.

"I can't give the line-up because we want to try the pitch before,'' Ancelotti said.

"If the players are comfortable to play there I will take the decision after the training session.

"We don't have important players, but we are able to play a good, physical match and I don't think we have a problem with a reaction from the game against Aston Villa. We'll put out a very good line-up tomorrow.''

Spartak are reeling from the loss of influential midfielder Alex ahead of tomorrow's game.

The Brazilian midfielder, a key figure in Valery Karpin's side, has been ruled out of the game after sustaining a thigh injury in Friday's 3-0 win over Alania Vladikavkaz.

It is a bitter blow to Spartak, who - like Chelsea - boast an unbeaten record in this season's Champions League campaign.

The Moscow side defeated Marseille 1-0 away and MSK Zilina 3-0 at home in their opening two games to lie second in the pool on goal difference to the English champions.

"Medical tests, which were done on Saturday, revealed a minor tear,'' confirmed Spartak coach Karpin.

"He'll need about seven to 10 days to recover.''

Alex was removed from the action at half-time and his absence is one of a number of injury concerns ahead of the visit of Chelsea.

But Brazilian striker Welliton is expected to recover from a pulled thigh muscle in time to play along with Republic of Ireland winger Aiden McGeady, who did not play against Alania because of a leg injury collected on international duty.

ACF Fiorentina, commonly referred to as simply Fiorentina, is a professional Italian football club from Florence, Tuscany. Founded by a merger in 1926, Fiorentina have played at the top level of Italian football for the majority of their existence; only four clubs have played in more Serie A seasons. After climbing back up the Italian football system in the early 2000s, Fiorentina are currently competing in the Serie A. Foundation to World War IIAssociazione Calcio Fiorentina was founded in the autumn of 1926 by local noble and National Fascist Party member Luigi Ridolfi, who initiated the merger of two older Florentine clubs, CS Firenze and PG Libertas. The aim of the merger was to give Florence a strong club to rival those of the more dominant Italian Football Championship sides of the time from North-West Italy. Also influential was the cultural revival and rediscovery of Calcio Fiorentino, an ancestor of modern football that was played by members of the Medici family.

First scudetto and '50-'60s

In 1950 Florentina started to achieve consistent top-five finishes in the domestic league. The team consisted of great players such as well-known goalkeeper Giuliano Sarti, Sergio Cervato, Francesco Rosella, Guido Gratton, Giuseppe Chiappella and Aldo Scaramucci, but above all the attacking duo of Brazilian Julinho and Argentinian Miguel Montuori. This team won Florentina's first scudetto (Italian championship) in 1955-56, 12 points ahead of second-place Milan.

Second scudetto and '70s

While the 1960s did result in some trophies and good Serie A finishes for Fiorentina, nobody believed that the club could challenge for the title. The 1968-69 season started with Milan as frontrunners, but on match day 7 they lost to Bologna and were overtaken by Gigi Riva's Cagliari Calcio. Fiorentina, after an unimpressive start, then moved to the top of the Serie A, but the first half of their season finished with a 2-2 draw against Varese, leaving Cagliari as outright league leader.

Pontello era

In 1980 Fiorentina was bought by Flavio Pontello, from a rich house-builder family. He quickly changed the team's anthem and logo, leading to some complaints by the fans, but he started to bring in high-quality players such as Francesco Graziani and Eraldo Pecci from Torino, Daniel Bertoni from Sevilla, Daniele Massaro from Monza and a young Pietro Vierchowod from Sampdoria. The team was built around Giancarlo Antognoni, and in Serie A 1981-82 Fiorentina were involved in an exciting duel with rival Juventus. After a bad injury to Antognoni, the league title was decided on the final day of the season, when Fiorentina were denied a goal against Cagliari and were unable to win. Juventus won the title with a disputed penalty, and the rivalry between the two teams erupted.

Cecchi Gori era

The first season under Cecchi Gori's ownership was one of settling, after which the new chairman started to sign some good players like Brian Laudrup, Stefan Effenberg, Francesco Baiano and, most importantly, Gabriel Batistuta, who became an iconic player for the team during the 1990s. In 1993, however, Mario Cecchi Gori died and was succeeded as chairman by his son Vittorio Cecchi Gori.

Della Valle era

The club was promptly re-established in August 2002 as Associazione Calcio Fiorentina e Florentia Viola with shoe and leather entrepreneur Diego Della Valle as new owner, and was admitted into Serie C2, the fourth tier of Italian football. The only player to remain at the club in its new incarnation was Angelo Di Livio, whose commitment to club's cause further endeared him to the fans. Helped by Di Livio and 30-goal striker Christian Rigan, the club won its Serie C2 group with considerable ease, which would normally have led to a promotion to Serie C1.

Badge

The official emblem of the city of Florence, a red giglio on a white field, has been pivotal in the all-round symbolism of the club.

Over the course of the club's history they have had several badge changes, all of which incorporated Florence's giglio in some way. The first one was nothing more than the city's coat of arms, a white shield with the red fleur-de-lis inside. It was soon changed to a very stylized fleur-de-lis, always red, and sometimes even without the white field. The most common symbol, adopted for about twenty years, had been a white lozenge with the flower inside. During the season they were Italian champions, the lozenge disappeared and the flower was overlapped with the scudetto.

Kit and colours

When Fiorentina was founded in 1926, the players wore red and white halved shirts derived from the colour of the city emblem. The more well-known and highly distinctive purple kit was adopted in 1928 and has been used ever since, giving rise to the nickname La Viola ("The Purple (team)"). Tradition has it that Fiorentina got their purple kit by mistake after an accident washing the old red and white coloured kits in the river.

It seems that everything is ready for next weeks UEFA Champions League final, Manchester United vs. Barcelona, on May 27th at Rome. Both coaches, Sir Alex Ferguson from Manchester and Pep Guardiola from Barcelona, are ready to have what Sir Alex Ferguson has called as a classic European game. Both teams are the champions of the national leagues they participate in, and both have all that is needed to give a great performance, and to affirm at this moment that one team is better than the other, is a very risky statement. Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that both teams have great players and this will suggest a great final. He hopes that when the time comes the result wont be disappointing for the fans that are expecting a great show for that day, as it has happened before in other European finals. Manchester United will have Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez in attack whereas Barcelona will have Messi and Samuel Etoo, and is hoping for Thierry Henry and Andres Iniesta to recover from their injuries, but either way, both of them have great squads to fight with. Every club has their own style. Barcelona has their style and we have our own way of playing," Ferguson said. "We hope that we express ourselves the way we want on Wednesday. The most important thing to win the tournament you have to express yourselves in the best possible way. And I think we have the players who can do that." Manchester is also waiting to see if Rio Ferdinand will be ready to play against Bara on Wednesday since he had a calf injury. Even though he says he is fine, Sir Alex Ferguson is taking all the precautions and wants to be sure that he is completely back in shape to play again. Ferdinand has expressed that there is no reason why he would not be fit enough for the final; he has been running and making all the normal exercises of a football practice and is very optimistic about being on the final game for sure. However, for Ferguson it is not that simple since he has not played in three weeks and that is too much time for him and considers that if he is not fit enough for the game, he will be substituted by Johnny Evans. On the other hand, the Barcelonas forward Lionel Messi has said that the mental strength that the Barcelona team has is their most important skill and that is what gave them the opportunity to beat Chelsea in the semifinals and have a spot on the final against Manchester United next week. He also expressed that they are all fighters and they will fight until the end to win the final and take the Champions League title home. He also explained that to be in the Champions League final is a dream that came true for him and that his desires and hopes to take the title home are not going away at least until next Wednesday on the big day. Both teams have all that it takes to be champions, we will have to wait and see what happens next week in Rome. About the Author

No two clubs around the world sell more replica jerseys than Manchester United and Barcelona so by this fact alone, the final of this seasons Champions League is promising to be a huge affair that the whole world will be interested in. It is true that if you asked many soccer fans throughout the season who their ideal soccer final would be, it would be involving these two teams. This because both have been responsible for some of the most exciting soccer played this year and both have just wrapped up their respective league titles. As tens of thousands of soccer fans look to descend upon Rome for the final and many more watch around the world, the anticipation for the match looks set to make it one of the most hyped up games of all time, lets just hope it can match its billing.

In a game where both teams will think they have a great chance of winning, Manchester United probably start favourites, which is fair enough given they are current holders of the Champions League and are World Club champions. No team has retained the Champions League since the tournament evolved from the European Cup so United would be looking to make a little bit of history. The club wrote a new chapter in their own history recently when their 18th league title took them level with Liverpool with regards to the amount of times both clubs have won the top flight in England. Yes, the famous red soccer jerseys have been at the forefront of English soccer and next season promises to be another cracker with United looking to go beyond Liverpool. Sir Alex Ferguson would love that and so would Wayne Rooney.

Although the vast majority of the squad at United have Champions League winners medals, this game is special as it may be the last for some players. The talk of Carlos Tevez leaving has risen louder and Rome may be last hurrah in a United soccer kit. There has also been a lot of talk about Ronaldo moving to Real Madrid where he will swap the Red Devils for the pristine white soccer kit of Madrid and no doubt he will want to leave on a high and prevent Barcelona from clinching a treble, which has never been managed in Spain before.

So, there is a lot riding on Barcelona in the final and it would give them a tremendous opportunity to get one over Real Madrid so the Barca fans will be imploring their world famous blue and red soccer tops are the ones celebrating at the end of the match. The strike power shown by Barcelona this season has been devastating with Messi, Henry and Etoo notching over 100 goals between them. This is more than most soccer clubs manage in a season, never mind three players which just goes to show how clinical their finishing has been at times.

Barcelona have not been solid at the back though and injuries and suspensions are set to weaken their backline even further for the Champions League final. This gives many people the impression that Manchester United will be the team more likely to score because for all that Barcelona are impressive up front, United are as equally strong at the back. The same cant be said the other way around and this is what makes some people believe that Barca have the edge.

Of course, on the night, the game is very much up for grabs and only one set of fans will be cheering come the end of the game but lets just hope the soccer on show lives up to the pre-match billing. Are Champions League soccer kits always a clash between red and blue?
