The Texas Longhorns are the type of college football program that reloads rather than rebuilds and for the 2010 season they will strive to prove that they have plenty of new weapons that have been stockpiled in their recruiting arsenal as they have 7 new starters on offense with 5 new starters on defense as they enter the 2010 campaign as a 15-1 choice in college football picks at online sportsbooks to win the national championship in BCS odds. Texas is led by coach Mack Brown, who has turned the tables on Oklahoma and Bob Stoops to become the dominant coach and program of the Big 12. Texas has beaten OU in 4 out of their last 5 match-ups in what is generally known as the "Red River Rivalry" but also realistically the title game for the South Division.

Texas has gone 25-2 straight up in college football odds for the past 2 seasons and lost the BCS title game to Alabama last year 21-37 as 4-point underdogs. They barely made the title game after needing a last second field goal in the Big 12 title game against Nebraska. Nebraska is an interesting part of the Texas equation this year. The Cornhuskers are the chalk to win the Big 12 North in this, their final season in the league, before joining the Big Ten for 2011. Nebraska felt that the refs gave Texas an extra second on the clock to kick that winning field goal last year and their hatred for Texas is well known.

Texas travels to Nebraska for the rematch on October 16th in what is definitely a dangerous game. The UT schedule in fact has two other perilous dates as they will host improving UCLA on September 25th and play Oklahoma the following week. The season finale against Texas A&M may also be a problem heading into BCS odds. Texas has been a major overlay in college football odds with just one profitable season in the last four and just 3 seasons in the black in their last 9 overall. Texas will always have talent but they are also a target and this may be a rougher year than normal in Austin.

While the Ohio State Buckeyes are the Big Ten team that is most mentioned to be favored in college football picks to make the BCS title game, the Iowa Hawkeyes may be the better value as they opened as a 20-1 choice at online sportsbooks to win the national title. Iowa is coming off a strong 11-2 straight up season which was capped off with an Orange Bowl win over ACC champion Georgia Tech 24-14 as 6-point underdogs. The Hawkeyes paid out in 10 of their games last year to rank as one of the most profitable teams on the board in college football betting odds.

Iowa returns 6 starters on offense including senior quarterback Ricky Stanzi, who threw for over 2,400 yards last year with a 17-15 TD/INT ratio. Also returning is sophomore running back Adam Robinson who had a great freshman year in which he ran for over 800 yards with a 4.6 yards per carry average. The defense allowed just 15 points per game in college football odds, which was slightly above the 13 points per game allowed in 2008 as Iowa has had one of the better and more consistent defensive units in the land since 2008.

The man responsible for this up and coming team is 12th year head coach Kirk Ferentz, who is on the rebound after a mediocre stretch from 2005-2007 in which Iowa played .500 football. Last year was the 4th time that Ferentz posted double digit wins for a season at Iowa. One of the big advantages in college football betting odds for Iowa for the 2010 season is their schedule as they will host top Big Ten contenders Wisconsin on October 23rd and Ohio State on November 20th. Even their tougher road games at Arizona, Michigan, Northwestern and Minnesota are winnable and the Hawkeyes could be chalks in all of them. Iowa may not be the obvious or "public" choice but they could be the best choice at 20-1 as it looks like a potential bargain.

After a promising 6-2 start, Notre Dame lost its final four games in 2009. That was enough for the program to finally cut ties with Charlie Weis. But it is worth noting that Notre Dame didn't lose a single game by more than seven points, and four of its losses came by five or fewer points. If a few or those would have gone the other way, Weis may have been able to keep his job. Now, one of college football's most storied programs is hoping Brian Kelly can succeed where Weis failed. Kelly was a miracle worker at Cincinnati, leading the Bearcats to three straight 10 win seasons, but he has never had the kind of pressure to win that he now faces. But in his favor, he has also never had this much talent to work with.

Offense - Offense was not the problem last season as the Irish ranked eighth in the nation in total offense with a 451.8 yards per game average. The Irish were especially lethal through the air, ranking fifth nationally with 323.5 passing yards per game. Quarterback Jimmy Clausen and wide receiver Golden Tate are gone, but Kelly still has plenty of talent to work with. The first order of business is changing from a pro style attack to the spread. Kelly's spread offense ranked No. 4 nationally in scoring offense last season. In order for it to work right away at Notre Dame, quarterback Dayne Crist must be up for the challenge. He will have no shortage of weapons to help him succeed. If wide receiver Michael Floyd can stay healthy, he will be one of the top pass catchers in the country. Despite missing five games, Floyd managed to catch 44 passes for 795 yards and nine touchdowns last season. Tight end Kyle Rudolph is one of the top NFL prospects in the nation at his position and running back Armando Allen is coming off a 700-yard season.

Defense: This is the side of the football that figures to make or break the Irish in 2010. It certainly broke the Irish in 2009 when it allowed 30 or more points in six games. Defensive coordinator Bob Diaco is confident he can get more out of this unit right away by changing to a 3-4 scheme, which is a better fit for his personnel. Diaco will benefit from inheriting a defense that returns six players in its front seven. Defensive end Ethan Johnson leads an experienced front line. Senior Brian Smith heads up a solid linebacking unit, which also features highly regarded sophomore Manti Te'o. The secondary loses safety Kyle McCarthy, but there is depth behind him with Jamoris Slaughter, Harrison Smith and brother Dan.

Prediction - 8-5 - With seven home games and two neutral site contests, the schedule sets up nicely for Notre Dame to show improvement in the win column in Kelly's first season. Be sure to check out my 2010 college football predictions report to get my take on other top programs across the country.

The college football odds makers don't stand a chance against Jimmy Boyd's award-winning football picks this season!

I reside in Las Vegas where football betting is not only legal but an important part of our local economy. There are numerous sports books all over town and come this fall on Sundays they all will be packed with people. Just about everybody has a favorite NFL team and they usually will want to wager on that team.

There are many professional sports handicappers that will sell you their picks. You can purchase their preferred plays individually or in a package deal. They claim to have that extra something that produces you a winning pick. They also can charge a high price for their service. I am always amazed by just home many people use these services over and over again. Would it not be nice if you could have their handicapping system then you could determine the winning plays and not cough up money every week to get their football picks.

Most football betting systems include team power ratings, historical data and current trends to select the winning side. Now there are many different formulas to use in calculating power rating. None are perfect they are just used to give the handicapper some idea how the teams currently rank. Other factors like game location, injuries and revenge factors are hard to figure into power ratings. You not need to figure out your own power ratings as there are many posted from various sports sites. For the most part they all have similar numbers. When things begin to change is when you apply all the variables to the ratings.

Every match up has variables that can not be overlooked. As a football handicapper you need to apply injuries, past match ups, home field advantage and motivational factors to your power ratings. Some teams handle injuries better than others so you must be knowledgeable about backup players. Consider all past meetings the two teams have had recently. Revenge is huge in sports. Some teams are nearly unbeatable at home. You need to examine if their stadium is unique and creates a great advantage over other stadiums. Then there is the motivational factor. Some teams are in a trap within their schedule that affects their play. For example teams that lose on Monday Night Football on the road now have a short week to take the field again come Sunday. Always consider the games prior to and after the week of football you are handicapping. Power Ratings are a necessity but do not handicap by powers rating alone.

This is just small taste what an effective football betting system contains. You never want to over analyze any part of the game but you must be aware of all the variables and how they relate to that match up.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were a playoff wining team back in 2007 but since then there has not been much to cheer about. Detroit may hold the honors for the team with the most straight up losses over the last two seasons but if you are betting on the Jaguars to cover point spreads then you are probably losing your money.

Over the last two NFL seasons the Jaguars are 12-20 straight up and 9-23 against the spread. The last two seasons the Jaguars have the worst record against the spread. That 9-23 mark means they only cover 2 out 5 games or 39%. The NFL average last season was 49.8% and the medium at 50%. The Jaguars are no where near that average number. In today's NFL where parity is common with most teams around the 500 mark it is hard to imagine that a team talented as the Jaguars, fail to cover the spread so often.

What really make this so strange is that over the last two seasons the Jaguars were only outscored by an average of 4.8 points. Compare that to Detroit Lions who over the last two seasons were outscored by an average of 15.1 points per game. The Jaguars have taking some heavy beatings over the last two seasons losing many games by more than 15 points. When they win it usually is a close game. The Jaguars also lost the last four games straight up and against the spread last season.

It is safe to imagine the Jaguars are in a critical point right now. Another season like 2009 and you probably see a coaching change and several player transactions. Way things look it's a risky move to bet on the Jaguars come September. The pressure they will face to get off to a respectable start is great. I would imagine if they experience a few close losses early that the whole season could fall apart.

The Jaguars are on team that will not be part of my September football picks as I plan on just observing for the first month of play to see just how they adjust to the situation. When it comes to my football betting system certain teams that I feel are in a desperate situation I will usually avoid

The NFL is truly the most popular sport in the United States. There are many reasons for this but that is not what is important. What is important because the NFL is so popular and tempting to wager on that many fans will not wait till opening day in September to start their football betting. Many fans will start betting in NFL games as soon as the NFL preseason starts. It is important preseason or not that you follow a football betting system.

Now if you are one those who loves the NFL so much that you will probably start betting in the preseason then there are a few tings you need to understand. Betting NFL preseason is very different than betting regular season games. We all know these are exhibition games where many unknown players are getting large amounts of play so the coaching staff can decide the fate of the player. This scares some people away from betting because they are not familiar with the unknown players. You can still make money on the preseason games but you must change your handicapping approach.

In the regular season the philosophy is that the best team shall win the games. This may not apply in preseason ball. When making football picks you need to research and discover which teams put more emphasis on winning and which teams traditionally fail to win preseason games. Let me give you an example.

Coach Jack Del Rio of the Jacksonville Jaguars is 18-10 straight up and 17-11 against the spread in preseason. Unfortunately last year in 2009, the Jags were just 1-3 straight up but only lost by a total combined 5 points in those 3 losses. Since Del Rio has been coaching the Jaguars they have always played well and usually win their preseason games. As a dog in the preseason the Jaguars are nearly perfect. Factor in that the Jaguars lost and failed to cover the last 4 games of the 2009 regular season makes them an interesting team to look at when the 2010 preseason starts.

To some coaches the preseason is about starting a winning streak and creating a winning atmosphere. Other coaches will lose the game simply because they are determined in playing weak unknown talent rather then make a few simple player adjustments to win the game. It comes down to just how important is it for a certain coaching staff to win a preseason game or to play their unknown players regardless if they can win or not.

New team coaches usually are eager to get that first win. Many times a new coach will make the first preseason game a priority to win in order to start a winning mentality. We have 3 teams with new coaches this coming 2010 season. The Washington Redskins with Mike Shanahan, the Seattle Seahawks with Pete Carroll and at last the Buffalo Bills with Chan Gailey. Look for these new coaches to make winning that first preseason a priority over everything else.

If you haven't drawn up a mock draft board for the 75th NFL Draft which begins Thursday at 7:30 pm ET, don't worry, there are already thousands of them littering the internet with details on exactly how the picks won't go.

Betting on how the picks will play out offers a much better return on your investment and here ate www.BetRepublic.com we're here to help you make a profit before training camp even begins.

Sam Bradford from Oklahoma and Jimmy Clausen out of Notre Dame are the top two quarterbacks available and the St. Louis Rams will pick first. Bradford seems like a lock for the No. 1 pick but anyone that's been involved with sports betting for more than a season usually learns to avoid the L-Word' like the plague.

The prop for "Will Bradford go first: Yes (-1200), No (+550)" offers a healthy payback on the underdog option but what else do the Rams need? Defensive tackle would be a good start, and Ndamukong Suh (Nebraska) would help solidify a line that ranked in the bottom 5 of nearly every defensive category.

Remember, both Bradford (shoulder) and Clausen (toe) are coming off injuries. HC Steve Spagnuolo has indicated that drafting a QB is one of his top priorities but "Spags" is a defensive minded coach whose team's problems are much deeper than the QB position. Suh would offer immediate returns for the Rams and to help solve their QB needs there is an experienced Super Bowl passer currently on the market by the name of Ben Roethlisberger.

Online sportsbooks also offer an Over/Under prop for total number of players at each position chosen in the first round and Offensive Lineman UN 8.5 (-150) is in the highest demand.

(No. 4) Washington, (No. 5) Kansas City and (No. Oakland are three teams that are almost certain to tag big O-linemen with their first picks but in the 10-20 range for picks the priority shifts heavily back to defense.

Looking to the bottom third, HC Andy Reid has never hesitated to use a high draft on his O-line and the Cowboys also need line help after releasing Flozell Adams but making "Nine" still seems like a stretch. At the same time, laying -150 is too much risk so you are better off looking elsewhere for draft prop power.

You can scrap positional play altogether and simply bet the Over/Under on "Total number of offensive or defensive players selected in Round 1" but the offshore books have done their homework. Offensive UN 15.5 (-190) is priced out of range for this type of bet while defensive OV 16.5 (-180) is just as bad.

Player Picks

QB Jimmy Clausen UN 9.5 (-130): The Buffalo Bills pick 9th and need a QB in the worst way. Bradford will be gone by this point and Clausen fits the profile for a top draft pick.

OT Bryan Bulaga UN 7.5 (-120): As mentioned above there are three teams in the top 8 needing an O-lineman. The prices on Trent Williams OV 5.5 (-200) and Russell Okung UN 4.5 (-200) are high and leave little margin for error but when Okung goes 4th (WSH) to protect Donovan McNabb's blindside, Bulaga will be a strong candidate for GM Scott Pioli's system in Kansas City.

RB CJ Spiller is a potential candidate for Mike Holmgren in Cleveland (7th) but odds for Spiller UN 14th (-200) price him out of range.

The point of betting on events such as draft picks is almost recreational and buying into a bad number is never a good idea. Remember, the bookmakers have a hundred mock draft boards, too.

Experts are expecting one of the most interesting drafts in years and this will be the NFL's primetime debut, which has helped stoke the fire. Research the options at your sportsbook and make sure the NFL Betting is worth the risk. As usual, there are sure to be plenty of surprises.

Before you can become a successful football bettor, there are some tips you must follow to make huge income from football betting! I will be listing and explain 7 tips that will help you make success as a football bettor:

1. Management of money

This is without a doubt the most important aspect of betting sports and possibly the most neglected. The first key to proper management of money is to be sure not to bet more than you can afford to lose. If you are going to bet on sports, it is important to set aside a certain portion of your money for betting and to stick with that bankroll, win or lose. Winning money on sports is not a sprint. If you bet your whole bankroll on one game and lose, you will be more likely to try and chase your losses. If you spread your bankroll among several smaller bets, you are more likely to make a profit in the long run if you do the proper homework. Remember, there are no locks in this business and any team can lose on any given night. And on the subject of chasing: Don't do it! There is no worse way to mismanage your bankroll than to chase your bets after a losing day. If you didn't like the game before you lost your money, why would you like it after your losses? Chasing bets is a losing proposition almost every time. If you are on a winning streak, increase the amount of your bets. Wins and losses often come in streaks, and it can be profitable to ride out a hot streak.

2. Shopping for the best number

The second most important aspect of betting on sports is shopping for the best number. There will be more discrepancy in the numbers on different sports at different sports books. The NFL, for example, will have very similar numbers at most of the betting shops you visit. On college sports and daily events like the NBA, you will be able to find different lines at different sports books. These books change their numbers according to the betting patterns of their customers, so it is not entirely uncommon to find two or three point differences in the lines. When you are betting your hard earned money, getting the best line is a top priority. And since the lines the bookmakers release are increasingly strong, the difference between a point or two is usually the difference between a win or a loss.

3. Never Gamble While under the Influence

There is a reason the casinos in Las Vegas supply you with free drinks while you are gambling. Because alcohol clouds your judgment and usually helps you to make rash decisions you usually wouldn't otherwise make. To be a successful sports bettor you need to operate with a clear mind. If you have had too much to drink, it is in your best interest to stay away from the betting window.

4. Do your Homework

As a bettor, you have the advantage of streamlining your research, which is something the sports books are not at liberty to do. They must keep on top of EVERY sport and EVERY game. The best way to win money betting sports is to develop a niche and follow it closely. If you become an expert on a smaller conference like the WAC, you have a good chance to beat the house because sports book operators do not have the time or resources to follow this conference the way you can. There is a wealth of information on the Internet; it is just up to you to find it and research it daily.

5. Check the Odds

Some sports books have better odds on parlays and teasers. When you are betting big bucks the difference in odds translate into a huge difference in your payout. All it takes is a little research of the sports books you usually bet at. Most books have their payout odds listed in way that is easy for the bettor to find them. It should be noted that we advise against playing parlays and teasers for the most part. (Especially anything over a 2-teamer)

6. Play Home Dogs

There is probably no better bet in sports than playing an underdog at home. Teams play inspired ball at home. Slim underdogs regularly win outright. Big underdogs often find ways to cover the spread and they rarely give up toward the end of a game in front of the home crowd.

7. Bet at the Right Time

The sharp bettors tend to bet underdogs, and they tend to bet them early. Squares usually bet later in the day (or week, for football) and they tend to pick the favorites. If you like an underdog, it is best to get your bet in as late as possible, where there is heavy action from squares on favorites. If you are going to go with a favorite, it is best to place your bet early in the week when the Pros are laying heavy money on the points. Not all games work according to this formula, but it is usually a good rule of thumb.

There are many other important factors when it comes to beating the books. Many people don't have the time to study things like: statistics, line moves, game analysis, team trends, situational trends, Historical angles, valuable lines, inflated numbers on public teams, etc. If this is your situation, there is help available to you. There are many fine sports handicapping services available. Like a good stockbroker handicapping services can advise you where to invest your money in order to limit your losses and increase your winning percentage.

As with any industry there are the good and the bad. We must confess that our industry has gotten somewhat of a black eye. The handicapping business has been flooded with 1-900-rip-offs, "boiler room" sales offices and those recorded free pick phones that get your phone number so that one of their high pressure salesman can call back and hound you on a daily basis. These services are often skilled in marketing but know little when in comes to handicapping. This is not in your best interest.

Be careful of services offering different levels of picks. (Diamond, Gold, Silver) based on the idea the more you pay, the better the picks will be. The question will always remain. Why wouldn't you give everyone your best picks? Why give out the lower level of picks at all? At Doc's, we have only one set of picks for one fair price, no matter what size of player you are.

It's very important that whether you use http://win29.com/betting.php, another service, or handicap on your own that you do your homework and always remember that this is a marathon and not a sprint. The same principle that apply to any business, also applies to sports betting and in our 30+ years of experience we can only guarantee the following four statements: There are no 'Locks,' there are no 'get-rich-quick' schemes, any game can lose in almost unimaginable ways, and unfortunately you will have your losing days.

The bottom line is to win more that you lose, and that's what has kept us in business for more than 30 years. Be sure to check out http://win29.com/betting.php. We have many free tools available to you like our odds, instructions, results, etc. Sign up for our free picks or check out our member football picks, head or tail game and lottery which are all available for a reasonable cost and are guaranteed to show you a profit or we'll work for free until we do so.

I hope these sports betting tips will help you out but most importantly be patient, have some fun and enjoy the experience. GOOD LUCK TO YOU

Led by a surging offense, the Cardinals look to clinch their second straight NFC West title Monday night when they visit a 49ers team featuring a new passing attack. San Francisco 49ers coach Mike Singletary again found himself facing questions about whether or not hes satisfied with veteran offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye. Linebacker Jeff Ulbrich is retiring after 10 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. When Arizona and San Francisco met in the season opener, the Cardinals high-powered offense was out of sync and the 49ers passing game was an afterthought.

Say what you want about Thursday Night Football taking away from tradition but that Pittsburgh loss to Cleveland has revealed an element to this Sundays card that was nearly impossible to imagine before kickoff.

Baltimore, Miami and the New York Jets are the teams most affected by the outcome and while the importance of winning this weekend was always high, the opening to a playoff door just got wider.

The Denver Broncos are still in the drivers seat atop the Wild Card standings and Jacksonville controls its own destiny, but news out of Florida on Friday is that Rashean Mathis (groin), Mike Sims-Walker (calf) and John Henderson (shoulder) are all doubtful for Sundays matchup vs. the Dolphins. It has sent the line tumbling and has all but guaranteed you wont be catching the Ravens or Jets looking past their games against lesser opponents.

Ahhh, football in December... youve gotta love it.

Week 14 NFL Picks

A successful 4-1 Sunday in Week 13 helped turn our overall record back in the right direction. Weve now posted winning records in three of the past four weeks (12-9, 57-percent) and look to continue with five more best bets for Sunday.

GREEN BAY (8-4) AT CHICAGO (5-7)
Line: Packers -3.5
Over/Under: 41
Two teams full of hope when they met in Week 1 go head to head and the picture is a lot clearer now. Green Bay has won four in a row (3-1 ATS) and is in line for a Wild Card if season ended today. The Packers defense has done its job despite injuries while Chicagos never seemed to rise above loss of Brian Urlacher. Biggest improvement in Green Bay has been protection for QB Rodgers. Pack has allowed only eight sacks in the past four games compared with average of 4.5 per game through first nine weeks. The field goal line has come with a price all week but buying down here with a divisional road favorite is a wise move.
BetRepublic.com Pick: Take the Packers

DETROIT (2-10) AT BALTIMORE (6-6)
Line: Ravens -13.5
Over/Under: 39.5
Its rarely a good alternative handing the ball to a QB who last engineered a win over two years ago but given the state of the Lions season and the condition of QB Stafford; Daunte Culpepper is the best alternative for Jim Schwartz. Detroit cant get any worse at turnovers; they are already leading that category and with Culpepper using this game as a live audition for another roster in 2010 we expect a decent performance. Baltimore should also refocus after losing on Monday at Green Bay and the Ravens are known to put up plenty of points against bad defensive teams.
BetRepublic.com Pick: Take the "Over"

MIAMI (6-6) AT JACKSONVILLE (7-5)
Line: Jaguars -3
Over/Under: 44
Just as the Dolphins are starting to hit full-stride it appears the Jaguars could be ready to stumble. Jacksonville shrugged off its second disappointing visit to the west coast this season by winning a crucial game against the Texans last week. Miami pulled off an upset that rivals Clevelands feat and now has the scent of the AFC East title. QB Henne threw for a career high 335 yards last week, RB Williams is on track for 1,000 yards and special teams are solid. If the defense can keep RB Jones-Drew in check we like Miamis chances of possibly winning straight-up.
BetRepublic.com Pick: Take the Dolphins

SAN DIEGO (9-3) AT DALLAS (8-4)
Line: Cowboys -3
Over/Under: 48.5
Its not often you find a division leader thats playing its best football of the season getting this many points but Dallas has a home record that warrants the number. Sportsbooks are looking for balanced action, too, and the Cowboys win vs. the Giants last weekend has attracted support. There is something about those Cowboy home victories that has us liking the dog in this contest. Carolina, Atlanta, Seattle, Washington and Oakland have a combined road record of 6-24 SU (.200) while San Diego is 5-1 SU away from home and 2-0 in non-Conference play.
BetRepublic.com Pick: Take the Chargers

WASHINGTON (3-9) AT OAKLAND (4-8)
Line: Redskins -1
Over/Under: 37.5
The Skins were oh so close to dethroning the undefeated Saints last week and now travel to the west coast to face a Raiders team who, by all accounts, just won its Super Bowl for the year in Pittsburgh. We look for the Redskins to play hard on both sides of the ball and not fall victim to the black hole but think that defense from both teams will have a greater say in determining this outcome. Betting the total in this game holds more appeal to us than either side.
BetRepublic.com Pick: Take the "Under"

Last Week: 4-1
Overall Record: 35-31 (Sides: 24-23; Totals: 11-8)

Denver Broncos Vs. Indianapolis Colts Sunday Night NFL Football Picks : denver broncos vs indianapolis colts december 13 The Denver Broncos shocked the NFL by starting perfect on the season, the Indianapolis Coltswell not so much.

The Broncos (8-4) sailed through their first six games, winning all of them, but came back to Earth when they lost four straight. Now, winners of two straight and leaders in the AFC Wild-Card race, Denver can show that they have truly come back by handing the Colts (12-0) their first loss of the season and put a stop to their 21-game regular season winning streak.

Denver is looking for a big win over a quality opponent. They defeated the New York Giants on Thanksgiving at home, but most figured the Giants were heading in the wrong direction until they dismantled the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday. They followed that up with an easy 44-13 win over the division rival Kansas City Chiefs, in which they ran for a season-high 245 yards on the ground.

Denver Broncos Vs. Indianapolis Colts Sunday Night NFL Football Picks

The biggest surprise of the Broncos season had been their defense, but during their losing streak it resorted to looking like one of the worst in the league that Denver had over the past couple of seasons, but they limited have allowed an average of just 244.5 total yards during their two-game winning streak.

Two-game winning streaks are merely a drop in the bucket for the team going for the NFL record for consecutive regular season wins. A win on Sunday will give Indianapolis the honor, snapping the record set from 2006-2008 by the New England Patriots.

In the Colts latest win, 27-17 over a surging Tennessee Titans team last Sunday, Indianapolis clinched the AFC South title for the sixth time in seven years and have moved one-step closer to the inevitable outcome of having a first-round bye and the playoffs going through Indianapolis.

It is no surprise that Peyton Manning is once again leading the onslaught with an NFL-best 3685 yards. Manning is on pace for another MVP season and has had quite a solid supporting staff with Reggie Wayne going over 1000 yards receiving last week and tight end Dallas Clark knocking on the door with 859.

Manning threw for a pedestrian (for Peyton) 193 yards with a more Peyton-like three touchdowns the last time these AFC foes met in September of 2007, a 38-20 Colts win in Indianapolis. Denver last won on the road against the Indianapolis Colts in 2003 and have lost seven of the last 10 overall.

Fans will see an early 12:10 pm kickoff in this FSN televised game.

College football picks oddsmakers list the Longhorns as 23 1/2 chalk favorites with a 52 1/2 total. Bears backers are getting +1100 odds as a home underdog while Texas is giving -2000 odds.

The Bears (4-5, 1-4) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 40-32 upset at Missouri last Saturday. Baylor is 2-3 at home this season and has lost its last two games in Waco. The Bears covered the 15-point spread, while the final score played OVER the day's posted total of 45.

The Longhorns (9-0, 5-0) are undefeated and ranked second nationally in both the USA Today Coaches' and Associated Press top 25 polls. Texas is coming off a 35-3 win over Central Florida Saturday in Austin and is 9-0 for the first time since the 2005 season when it won the BCS championship. Colt McCoy led Texas with three touchdown passes versus the Knights.

The Longhorns did not cover the large 35.5-point spread, while the final score played UNDER the day's posted total of 48.

College Football Picks: The Longhorns can hardly afford to overlook the improving Bears who are currently 4-5 and a team that needs wins to get bowl qualified. This game is overlined favoring the visiting Longhorns. Take the points and play the Bears in this one.

Packers defeat Browns 31-3 - Green Bay put together 21 points in the third quarter, and kept Cleveland out of the end zone for the entire game. Aaron Rodgers was efficient, completing 15-of-20 passes for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns. Ryan Grant rushed for 148 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

Texans defeat 49ers 24-21 - Houston took a 21-0 lead into halftime, but a frantic second-half rally by the 49ers made this thing a lot closer than it needed to be. Shaun Hill was benched, and Alex Smith came in to throw 3 touchdowns passes, all to TE Vernon Davis. Matt Schaub now leads the NFL in passing yards, and he put up 264 more Sunday while throwing for 2 touchdowns.

Chargers defeat Chiefs 37-7 - In a must-win game for San Diego, the Chargers responded thanks to 268 passing yards and 3 touchdowns from Phillip Rivers. Vincent Jackson accounted for 142 receiving yards in the first half alone as the Chargers took a 20-0 lead into halftime and never looked back.

Steelers defeat Vikings 27-17 - Pittsburghs defense won this game for them, returning a fumble for 77 yards and an interception for 82 yards, both in the fourth quarter and both for touchdowns. The Vikings actually outgained the Steelers 386-259, but the Steelers defense was the difference with two huge plays.

Colts defeat Rams 42-6 - Indianapolis handed St. Louis their 17th straight loss, and it was the 16th straight regular season for the Colts in the process. Peyton Manning didnt top 300 yards passing for the first time this season, but his 235 yards and 3 touchdowns were more than enough to put the Rams away.

Patriots defeat Buccaneers 35-7 - In the third-annual London game, it was Tom Brady and New England who stole the show. Brady threw for 302 yards and 3 touchdowns, while the Patriots defense held Tampa QB Josh Johnson to just 9-of-26 passing with 3 interceptions.

Bills defeat Panthers 20-9 - Another poor outing from QB Jake Delhomme had Buffalo coming out on top. Surprisingly, Buffalo was outgained 167-425 but 3 interceptions and a lost fumble from Delhomme put a halt to four Carolina drives. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick made the start in place of Trent Edwards, and he did all that was asked of him by throwing for 123 yards and a touchdown without an interception.

Jets defeat Raiders 38-0 - Three turnovers by JaMarcus Russell in the first half, 2 interceptions and 1 fumble, led to his benching and a 24-0 lead for New York by the break. Rookie RB Shonn Greene led the way on the ground, rushing for 144 yards and two touchdowns after Leon Washington went out with a broken leg. Thomas Jones also rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown in the win. Mark Sanchez got back on track, completing 9-of-15 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown without an interception.

Bengals defeat Bears 45-10 - In what was a statement game for Cincinnati, the Bengals took a 31-3 lead into the half. Carson Palmer was flawless, completing 20-of-24 passes for 233 yards and a career-high 5 touchdowns. Chad Ochocinco caught 10 balls for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jay Cutler threw 3 interceptions for Chicago, not helping their cause.

Cowboys defeat Falcons 37-21 - After falling behind 0-7, it was all Dallas the rest of the way as they scored 17 unanswered points in the second quarter. Tony Romo threw for 311 yards and 3 touchdowns, and WR Miles Austin had his second consecutive big game with 6 catches for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns. Austin now has 421 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns in the Cowboys last 2 games, alone.

Saints defeat Dolphins 46-34 - Its hard to believe that New Orleans was down 3-24 in the first half at one point. But they got a touchdown on the final play of the first half on a QB sneak by Drew Brees to make it 10-24 to give them some momentum heading into the break. The Saints outscored the Dolphins 22-0 in the fourth quarter, and Drew Brees finished with 298 passing yards, 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. But Brees rushed for 2 touchdowns to help New Orleans remain unbeaten on the season. Miamis Ricky Williams rushed for 3 touchdowns in the loss.

Cardinals defeat Giants 24-17 - The Cardinals defense was the difference. Arizona forced Eli Manning into 3 interceptions and also forced a key fumble by Ahmad Bradshaw late. The Cardinals outscored the Giants 14-3 in the second half.

Eagles defeat Redskins 27-17 - DeSean Jackson rushed for a 67-yard touchdown on an end-around less than 2 minutes into the game. He also caught a 57-yard touchdown pass from Donovan McNabb late in the third quarter to put the Eagles up 27-7, and basically put this game out of reach. Washington actually outgained Philly 308-262 and had 21 first downs to their 11, but 3 lost fumbles and an interception gave the Redskins no chance to win. LB Will Witherspoon made a big impact after getting traded from the Rams earlier this week, returning a Jason Campbell interception for a touchdown to put the Eagles ahead 14-0 in the first quarter.
