This should be another great year of NFL football as there is much to get excited about. The first things I want to make sure everyone is aware of are the new head coaching changes. First, in Buffalo Chan Gailey in now the head coach. His last football job was offensive coordinator with the Kansas City Chiefs but was let go just weeks before the start of the 2009 season. You probably are more familiar with Gailey as the head college football coach for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. He was there for 6 seasons and appeared in a bowl game every one of those seasons. He also was the Dallas Cowboys head coach for 2 season from 1998-1999.

He was not the Bills first choice as they really wanted to hire Bill Cowher but settled for Gailey. The Bills have been stagnating for quite some time with not only inconsistency by missing the playoff but also juggling quarterbacks. Good luck to coach Gailey.

Now off to Seattle as the Seahawks have a new coach in Pete Carroll. Gone is Jim Mora and in is former coach of the University of Southern California Trojans. Carroll has been rumored every year to make the move to the NFL and finally he did. The Seahawks were underachievers last season yet still have enough talent to compete in the NFC West Division. Carroll is no stranger as a NFL head coach as he previously was the head coach for the New York Jets and the New England Patriots. It has been awhile since Carroll was in the NFL but he should fit right in with the Seahawks.

Now at last the final head coaching change is in the nation's capital as the Washington Redskins now have Mike Shanahan as their head coach. You had to know that Shanahan was going to coach again and coach soon. He spent 14 seasons as the Denver Broncos head coach and won 2 super bowls. Parlay this with Redskins owner Dan Snyder making key player moves like acquiring Donovan NcNabb should make the Redskins a playoff team this coming season. I am very interested to see how the Redskins perform this season more than any other team. They are definitely committed to making a playoff run and the excitement this brings has my eyes on them.

To wrap things up, there are only 3 head coaching changes for the 2010 season. All are well known head coaches and should have success. As for me I predict the Redskins will not only get tremendous attention this coming season but will win their division. I know its way too early for that talk but the NFL football excitement has begun.

Seattle's Detroit Lions selected in the seventh round of NFL Draft 2010, Willie Young and Tim Toone. Mickey Shuler Jr., Ryan D'Imperio picked by Minnesota Vikings. NFL DRAFT Picks 2010, held last night at the Radio City Music hall in New York.It will be for the first time that the draft picking is taking place for three days.

The St.Louis Rams who had the worst record in the NFL last season had the first selection in which they picked quarterback Sam Bradford from the Oklahoma Sooners. The Rams need to have good players this time so that they can perform better this season and they got the much needed opportunity to pick first in the first round NHL draft.

Tim Tebow, the Gators college amazing player was picked 25th overall and was picked by Denver Broncos to join their team. As mentioned Sam Bradford went first to the Rams, while his teammates Gerald McCoy went third to the Buccaneers and Trent Williams went fourth to the Redskins.

The Denver Broncos received the pick; the top four draft picks 2010 saw three players from Oklahoma get selected. The second pick of the draft went to the Lions where they selected defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh from Nebraska and the Baltimore Ravens for three draft picks in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounds in the 2010 NFL Draft.

2009 Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow was selected 25th by the Denver Broncos. Tune in today to see round two of the Draft. There is no limit on how many picks a team can build up. To "kickoff" the excitement (get it?), we'll be discussing byzantine rules of NFL free agency.

The basic rule is this: for the 2010 season, an NFL player not under contract must have at least 6 years of experience to be an unrestricted free agent, like, say, Conan O'Brien has no restrictions on choosing which second-tier cable station to offer his unique but off-putting brand of comedy to. Because rookie contracts last a minimum of three years, this leaves players with 3-5 years of experience as restricted free agents.

So whatdoes that mean? As you might guess, it means you're a highly paid serf. Your former team still owns yourservicesand can "tender" you a contract offer for the next year.Tenderoffers range from $1 to $3 million. Not chump change, but if you're, for example, Brandon Marshall, you might want to seek out a better offer that's consistent with your market value.But it will likely be very hard for the Brandon Marshalls of the world to find a new, properly compensating home, for two reasons: (a) the original team has a right of first refusal to match any offer; and (b) if the original team doesn't match, the new team has to compensate the original team with draft picks. The higher the tender offer, the more draft picks you have to compensate the original team with, up to a maximum of a first and third-rounder.

The draft pick compensator is a real kicker because draft picks are valuable commodities in the NFL. They represent hope. Who knows where the next Brandon Marshall may lurk? And better yet, you can lock that guy up for another six years, whereas the veteran Marshall could bolt at any time.

And therein lies the great irony about all this hype regarding the "uncapped" 2010.A casual observer mightthink, finally, wecanhave asystem like baseball and have all the bigmarket teams and stupid spenders dominate the poor and penny pinching! But guess what, in previous years,unrestricted free agency began at a player's 4th year, nothis 6th. Take a look at the unrestricted free agents out there. They're basically broken down running backs and kickers. Meanwhile, the good players, who are actually in their prime, are subject to twomore years of indentured servitude.
